Organizational History

The roots of the organization were formed during the summer of 1988 by a group of community leaders concerned about the use and abuse of illegal and legal drugs in Pearland. The organization was initially chaired by Leon “Coach Sab” Sablatura. By the end of the 1988-89 school year, Project Graduation was implemented to provide graduating seniors a safe, tobacco, drug, and alcohol free celebration.

In 1999, PCDPAP (Pearland Community Drug and Positive Attitude Program) was created as an incorporated organization (501,c,3) with the purpose to involve parents, youth, businesses, community organizations, schools, churches, and the community at large in the creation of drug awareness and positive attitude programs. Our mission is to include the Pearland community in promoting a safe, drug free environment.

In 2019, the PISD Council of PTAs voted to carry-on his dream and vision of a positive, substance abuse free future for every student through this program.

Both, PISD Council of PTAs and PCDPAP, Inc. are non-profit, 501(c)(3), educational organizations dedicated to serving the youth and community of Pearland, Texas.
